- The Battery Test app is compatible with 64-bit devices only.
- You can use the BT506 tester with a compatible Autel tablet, but a software update may be necessary for the app to display correctly.
Autel MaxiBAS BT506 Powering Up
1- Download and install the app on your mobile device: Search for (Battery Test) in Google Play or the Apple App Store to download and install the app on your smartphone or tablet. Alternatively, scan the QR code on your new Unit to be directed to the app download page.
2- Register and Log In
- Open the Battery Test app and tap “Register” on the login screen.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the registration process.
- Log in using your registered email address and password.

- Disclaimer Agreement: Upon first-time use of any function on the Home screen, a Disclaimer page will appear (Figure 4-1). Carefully read the end-user agreement and tap “Accept” to proceed. Declining the agreement may limit your access to certain features.

Select In-vehicle test: From the Home screen (Figure 4-2), tap the (In-vehicle test) button.
- Home Screen: Displays the three main functions of the BT506: In-vehicle test, Out-vehicle test, and History. Three additional optional functions are also shown.
- Navigation Button: Provides access to the Home screen, Update section, and Me panel, which includes Repair Report, Data Logging, BAS Manager, Settings, User Manual, and 508 Upgrade.

The vehicle information will auto-populate once a connection is established. A (Battery Information) tab will appear at the bottom.

Tap the icon on the tab to return to the Vehicle Information screen. Tap “Battery Location” in the bottom left corner to view a diagram of the battery’s location.

After completing the battery test, proceed with the starter and generator tests to comprehensively assess your vehicle’s electrical system.
Starter Test:
- Follow On-Screen Instructions: Carefully follow the instructions displayed on the Battery Test app.
- Start Engine: Start the vehicle’s engine and let it idle.
- View Results: The MaxiBAS BT506 will analyze the starter’s performance and display the results on the screen (Figure 4-7).
